Atlantic Barbecue (AB) was born of the radical belief that barbecue is all about elevating cultures and good eating. Originally founded in 2020 — right as the pandemic unfolded as a catering service by Orlando, FL native Michael Willis. It was a way of showcasing his singular approach to barbecue and southern comfort food to Northern Virginia. Atlantic Barbecue has since grown into a barbecue culture brand that’s committed to creating experiences and bringing people together.


A Permanent Home in Northern Virginia
Today, Atlantic Barbecue has expanded with a food truck operating daily at multiple permanent locations throughout the Northern Virginia area — Springfield, Lorton and Fort Belvoir. Their offerings encompass online ordering, delivery, small batch and full-service catering.

The menu celebrates a mission to redefine craft barbecue through a southern comfort lens, inspire creativity and feature dishes that blend bold flavors and honoring cultural authenticity. Through continuous learning, mentorship, and adaptability, Michael has built a thriving business.
